There are no legitimate steps for testing a live Diners Club CVV. Running card numbers through a checkout to see which ones authorize is card testing, and it is fraud. The steps that do exist are for your own integration: processor sandboxes, published test PANs, forced CVV mismatch responses, and auth-only or zero-amount checks on cards you control.
If a site promises to "test" or "check" Diners CVVs for a fee, it is selling either stolen data or a worthless script. Neither ends well.
Diners Club is a small issuer network in the US, and it routes through Discover in most domestic acceptance setups. That makes it a common target for card testers who assume low volume means weak monitoring. The opposite is true. Issuers and processors watch low-volume BINs closely because the traffic pattern stands out.
The issuer returns a match, no-match, or not-processed result. A no-match means the value is wrong. It does not mean the card is bad in every case, and it does not mean you should retry with another number. Retrying a CVV field with different values on the same card is a classic testing signature and will get the merchant account flagged.
